NEW FRAUD ALERT
We have received reports from other credit unions of a new phone scam going around. To our knowledge, none of our members have been affected. However, it affects Visa and Mastercard account holders.
Basically, you receive a phone call from someone pretending to be from the security and fraud department. This person seems very legitimate and asks if a charge from Anti-Telemarketing Device is an authorized charge. You say no and they inform you they have been monitoring this company for fraud and will credit your account. To verify that you are in possession of your card, they ask you to read them the last three numbers on the back of your card. DO NOT GIVE THEM THIS INFORMATION! According to Visa, if the call was legitimate, they would not ask for this information as they already know it having issued the card.
If you receive a call like this and think it may be legitimate, tell the caller that you will call VISA or Mastercard directly for verification and make sure that you use the phone number on your card, not a phone number the caller gives you. If you think you may have been vicimized by this scam, please contact your credit card issuer.

Avoid letting your account become dormant by transacting business at least once per year. After three years of inactivity, a $5 service fee is charged each quarter. After five years, the credit union is required to submit the funds to the State of Colorado.
